I love collaborating with teachers. I make it a point to attend team meetings at least once a month and work with the teachers to create an integration project.
In leading the staff on two campuses towards technology integration, I see success when the teachers take ownership of their own learning and begin to attempt new things. Delivering staff development that truly impacts teaching and instruction gives me a great deal of satisfaction. When I see the teachers applying what they have learned (from me)in a way that positively impacts their instruction and leaves them feeling empowered and successful, my heart smiles.
I spent a lot of time trying to educate teachers and staff about what the ITS position really meant. At the beginning much of my time was spent dealing with some kind of technical support keeping me away from the educational part of my job. This year finaly I am seeing teachers calling the help desk and approachign to me more for curriculum issues. It gives a sense of pride that I am seeing as a teacher and that they can come to me to find resources and information for help on teaching.
Teaching/Presenting is one of my strengths. I enjoy working with the children and with the teachers, therefore model lessons gives me a high return and gives me a great deal of pleasure. It gives me pleasure to see the students positive reactions and their involvement in the lessons when technology is being utilized. This gives the teachers a base and they in turn want to use the technoloogy to engage their students regularly.
When a teacher asks if I know of a lesson on a subject/objective they are teaching, I love creating something using SB Notebook or other software we use.
I love teaching the teachers and students at the same time. Teachers are more likely to use the technology again if they see it gets the students excited about learning. It gives me great satisfaction to hear the teachers come up with new ideas to use that technology in a new way. A way they came up with on their own.
I enjoy working with the students. Being out of the classroom I don't get as much of an opportunity to work with the students directly. When the chance comes up for me to teach the students directly I take it. Seeing the kids learn something new and be excited about it makes me feel excited as well.
Staff Development is one requirement that matches my personality in which it gives me a high return in teacher satisifaction and is most rewarding when the kids are excited about what their teacher has accomplished and shared. :)
The one job requirement that I feel is my strength is helping teachers integrate technology with their curriculum. I really do enjoy meeting with teachers and having both of us brainstorm creative ways to integrate their curriculum. Seeing the teacher and students get excited is the most rewarding part of my job.
Creating new integrated lessons is a strength of mine. I really love writing new integrated lessons and how it helps with the integration process at my campuses. I usually meet with the teachers and they will tell me what they are studying that they need help with; we will all brainstorm together how to integrate the technology, then I sit down and write the lesson and come up with all the pieces & parts with their input. We meet together after the lesson has been created to work add/edit and change and then on how to execute it.
I think my best strength is to teach a tech integration lesson in the lab, from beginning to end. I enjoy teaching the students and they enjoy me. We have fun and learn a lot of new applications and tricks. It gives me high return when they are so involved that you cannot interrupt them. The lab is silent and everyone is on task creating and learning. Also seeing the project to its fruition is the best; knowing that you created, taught and produced with the students is fun for me. Hmmmm... I'm going to answer this one backwards. I get really tickled when students and/or teachers take a project and run with it. The high return for me is when they are pleased with their finished product. Working with teachers to develop these projects is the job requirement, but taking an enthusiastic approach makes it happen.
I love doing staff development with my teachers. It gives me great pleasure when I see them use what they learned in class to work with their students. I also like when they take what they learned and model it to their peers. I love that I have an opportunity to empower and inspire my teachers to do awesome things with technology.
Meeting with teachers, be it through training, planning, following-up, just-in-time teachable moments, or modeling lessons for their classes, is something I am required to do as a part of my position. Fortunately, it is also one of my greatest pleasures. It is similar to working with students in that there are moments spent working with teachers that allow me to connect with them in a unique way. Seeing the proverbial "light go off," watching them take the information I have shared with them and use it with their students who, in turn, create a unique product, and also getting other ideas for my own projects just through the course of a discussion is truly inspiring. It really is what keeps me going and working toward stretching myself to improve my own skills as well as look at things in a new light.
I have a passion for helping all campus staff with their technology struggles and having the job requirement of staff development gives me the avenue that I need to accomplish my goal to help people succeed.
This year the best requirement/return/reward that I am getting is stemming from the fact that the CIP includes technology as a campus goal. As a result of this, teachers are coming to the lab with their students, even on weeks when I am not there, and getting things done; not just website math practice, but integrating technology with their curriculum. Students are learning and being exposed to much more than before on this campus, and they are enjoying it and seeing actual finished products. Teachers, as well, are seeing model lessons being taught and then even extending them on their own. They are also modeling for their students using their mounted projectors in their classrooms, and starting to come up with or finding their own technology infused lessons. This has not really happened before and is a great pleasure to see and be a part of. Both the teachers and students are finding lab time meaningful and not simply something extra on their plate. So, having more opportunity to actually work with both teachers and students in the lab integrating technology and having some finished products to show as a result of our time has been a great reward this year. This, in combination with the positive teacher and student responses to all they're learning and producing.
Teaching is one of my strengths. I think of myself as a teacher and I really want my teachers on campus to see that.
I like to model for the teacher what technology instruction looks like and I enjoy making it fun for the students. Planning lessons and executing them either for teachers or for the students is where I like to spend my time.
When everyone is excited about using technology, that is where I see the highest return on my time and effort investment. It's the most fun to prepare for and I feel like that is where my strengths get to shine.
The job requirement that matches my strength is organizing and setting up. Whether it is organizing the lab schedule, setting up model lessons and video conferences, or getting with teachers and organizing as well as setting up projects to do with their students, I think it suites me.
The part of the job that gives me a high return is when I get the opportunity to work with willing teachers on lessons. Their excitement and cooperation to incorporate technology in their curriculum, makes that part of the job worth it.
The part of the job that is rewarding is the student's reaction and excitement in using technology as part of their learning.
One job requirement that matches my strength and gives me a high return and pleasure is facilitating staff development. I enjoy teaching, and I believe that I am good at facilitating staff development. It is a great feeling to train teachers and then see them implement the technology I have trained them on with their class. Not only are the teachers learning new skills, but in addition the students are now engaged and excited about a technology integrated assignment (and they are having fun). Staff development is our opportunity to add skills to a teacher’s tool box, which gives them options to meet every student’s learning style. That’s why I get the most satisfaction out of this.
One example that leads my job requirement is the ability to effectively support and manage successful relationships with principals and teachers. I have known leadership capabilities and abilities that I must use in assisting and making decisions for others and with my administrators. The relationship that I have with them must be strong and have a focus on trust and loyalty because the situations and solutions ultimately affect the teachers and students. I love working with people in a service oriented professions. When team members work together for the same mission and vision, the results have a very high probability of success. I loved to observe others working for the same cause. In essence, that is what gives me the most pleasure and satisfaction. Happy people makes great workers!
